HourClass, an online student portal, was based on a pilot study by the Fanshawe Interactive Media Team that explored the gamification of course work in a classroom environment. It allows students to monitor assignments and deadlines through an interactive timeline.
As the lead designer, my goal was to create a visually rich and immersive experience. The heavy use of iconography and colour allowed students to see information at glance. HourClass was a semi-finalist in the Applied Research category at Fanshawe College’s annual showcase, “Student Research & Innovation Day”.
